Ashley Shaw

Ashley Shaw,

a lifelong equestrian, began her career showing western pleasure and participating in 4-H at the young age of six. Ashley showed early-on entrepreneurialism through cleaning tack and braiding at shows.

After training in the Netherlands with Johan Rockx and Penny Zavitz-Rockx,

with whom she still works, Ashley decided to return to Region 9 for sport, region, and community. Ashley also regularly works with renowned professional Lauren Sprieser.

Ashley believes strongly in continuing education and hosts variety of clinics at Galloping Springs with Lauren Sprieser, as well as bit fitting clinics, horsemanship training, and biomechanics events throughout the year in order to expand her own education and help her students become educated and well-rounded equestrians.

A USDF Bronze and Silver medalist,

Ashley has over 20 years of experience starting young horses, working with stallions, preparing and showing horses for breed shows and performance tests. Ashley started her first horse when she was just 12 years old and enjoys the rewarding process from green to confident and carefully campaigned.

Ashley takes great Pride on offering fair, clear, and concise instruction suitable for horses and riders of all backgrounds. Ashley believes no goal is too big or too small and loves to help her students achieve their dreams. Ashley has helped five clients earn bronze medals and two earn silver medals between 2017 and 2023.

Ashley has earned multiple USDF HOY top 10 placings,

and she has begun a carefully selected small breeding program to offer her ideal sport horse to amateurs in the region with first foal crop expected in 2022.
