About

Ashley began riding at the age of three, and had her first show at the age of six. Though she began competing in western pleasure, her love of a challenge soon led her to compete in 4-H events and local dressage competitions.

Ashley is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist with over 20 years in the horse industry. She has experience starting young horses, working with stallions, and campaigning horses for breed shows and performance tests. She also has ridden many different breeds of horses , and prides herself on creating confident, relaxed partners while developing their full potential as individual.

Galloping Springs Ranch is the home base for Ashley Shaw Dressage. The ranch is a beautiful 72 acre facility which Ashley and her mother operate in Dripping Springs, Texas. Ashley has worked for Olympian Jan Ebeling, and  Johan Rockx and Penny Zavitz-Rockx; accomplished international riders for the Netherlands and Canada, respectively, who breed their own competiton horses. One of the horses, Zero Gravity, will represent the US at the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Final in 2016, with Guenter Seidel. Ashley's mother, Jennifer Jarvis, has been a lifelong infuence, and Ashley credits her for teaching proper horsemanship and an overall passion for horses, as well as developing Ashley's eye for dressage. Ashley regularly clinics with internationally renowned riders, attends USDF edcuation programs, and hosts clinics at Galloping Springs with local judges. She hopes to attend the USDF L program in 2017.

Horses in the program receive a combination of natural horsemanship and classical dressage training. Horses are exposed to different environments and obstacles and learn to trust their rider fully in any situation. Lunging, trail riding, and jumping, are all forms of cross training that horses will be exposed to depending on level of training and preparedness. Principles of classical dressage are used and frequently refrenced in lessons. Ashley prides herself on delivering clear, straightforward instruction to both horse and rider.

Ashley has worked closely with Jan Hulsebos of  Hulsebos Saddles in the Netherlands for the past 10 years to ensure that all of her horses have saddles that are balanced and allow full freedom of the back and shoulders to optimize comfort and performance.
